Keyboard shortcuts

• You can browse forward and backward mouse-less, using Alt+right arrow and Alt+left arrow, respectively.
  You can zoom in or out the text size of a page using Ctrl++ and Ctrl+ - . To reset scale 1:1 use Ctrl + 0 (cero). To undo the last tab you opened, use Ctrl+Shift+T .

Changing page style

• It is sometimes hard to read a page because, for example, the author has used low contrast fonts against a dark background. The tip in these cases is to disable the styles: View-Page style-No style will get us back to the basic page, blank background and standard text.

Bookmarks and quick access

There comes a moment in anyone’s lifetime when markers become too long and hard to manage from the browser menu. The solution:
Bookmarks-Organize bookmarks-Import and backup-Export HTML . This will create a webpage with all the markers as hyperlinks and make consulting more easier and more comfortable.

Creating a quick access or macro from a marker

• This useful tip is not very well-known. Open any page for which you want a quick access to. Use Ctrl+D to add it up to your bookmarks.Find the bookmarked site from the bookmark list and right click on it. You will now see a Property box, Add the key word where it reads keyword: for example, rose. Use some word you will easily remember. When you type in: rose in the navigation toolbar and press Enter the desired address will open.

Opening search results on a new tab.

• Every time you search with Firefox from the search box on the upper right corner, the search results open on the present tab, something we may not want to happen. To get the search results in a new tab, on Firefox navigation toolbar enter: about:config. A warning will show demanding a commitment on your side. Then, go to where it reads and type in: browser.search.openintab This option with its status will be listed, that by default is false. Just double click on it and true, will set in. And that is all.

Profile creation and management

• If you are using a computer to which many users have access and you intend to keep your privacy, because you might want your bookmarks not to be visible or block access to some information of sensitive nature, or even because you have so many personalities, then you will love this tip, as you can create profiles with different configurations at Firefox.

  Important: Before creating a profile close Firefox, otherwise it will not work out.

  With Windows, go to Start, Run and type in: firefox -p. This will open a window that will allow you to create a new profile, for example p1. To start your new profile at Firefox go to the Windows Start menu, Run and type in: firefox -p “p1″. Firefox starts with your new profile. (Thanks Cesar for the tip!)

  If in GNU/Linux, open a terminal or console (You will find the option at the applications menu under System). Or press Alt+F2 and type in: firefox -ProfileManagerA window to create all the profiles you want will appear. To start Firefox with your new profile, open a terminal and type in: firefox -p “profilename”, replacing “profilename” by the name of your new profile.
